For once we left early and took the train to Cottens (nearest station to Autigny).
It was the most beautiful morning with several ‘seas of fog’ over the valleys.
We followed an old road to Autigny (the new one looking very dangerous to walk beside ).
and very soon found ourselves along the road that we had rushed along the previous day.
This walk was, like the previous day, often on hard surfaces which is very wearing on the feet and legs.
The fog lifted and gave way to a beautiful blue sky. At one point Sue even removed hat and gloves
and opened her jacket as I was so warm. The hills became more ‘rolling’ and pastoral.
The views of the mountains were just lovely. Arriving at La fille Dieu we looked in the chapel
and then walked to the foot of Romont to have a hot chocolate but returned for ‘None’ at 14.15.
From there, passing by the cheese shop to buy double cream and meringues for supper, we caught the
train home ending our year with a lovely way.
