We walked from home!! This was amazing.
We walked across the Auguet bridge which was one of the very few crossing points on the Aare
river when one side was under the rule of the Bishop of Constance and the other the Bishop of Lausanne.
The present bridge has been moved to accommodate new roads and this path from Gümligen to Kersatz
is no longer on the official way. The weather was cloudy and damp so we only walk to Kersatz.
We walked the ‘new’ way in the opposite direction from Kersatz back to Bern which was a nice easy walk.
We later filled in the gap wlaking to our home on
the Baselweg, from Basel to home via Burgdorf.
