Due to the mountains and lakes, our journey time was getting longer at this point. Today was most walking on roads next to traffic, which Sue in particular found to be very tiring and was exhausted, although this could also have been due to a lack of sleep, food or water. It was partly cloudy but the sun did come out, making it difficult to know what to wear as the temperature was constantly changing. Stans, the capital of Nidwalden, was a big surprise as it had an interesting ‘old’ town, including a 15th century ossuary. We picnicked at a place that had a bench and a toilet for our use. We saw very few people on our way it being built up areas. We drove to the apartment for supper, after which Sue felt a lot better. Then, Angus drove Sue to Fischingen for Compline and meditation. It was a beautiful meditation session in the main church in front of the High Altar and around a massive font filled with water.
