Today we planned to try to walk to St.Nicklausen.
We had hoped that we could reach the Brünig pass but that looked to be too much.
The long journey times were starting to be a problem adding extra strain on the day’s walking.
We made it to St.Niklausen and stayed with the Dominican sisters and the community of Chemin Neuf.
We met our first pilgrim and shared a room with him.
Sue attended Evensong and Laudes which was very special.
The way there was just beautiful and the views from the dining room just magnificent.
We had left the car in Stans for 10.- for two days. The walk there had been splendid and we came across
a ‘pilger stübli’ where we could help ourselves to a cup of tea/coffee which was very welcome.
The cost of staying with the sisters was 106.- for the two of us including evening meal, breakfast and sheets.
The meal was delicious and the room (with 5 beds) was very comfortable.
