Returning to Turtmann by train, we walked up the hillside above the old village of Turtmann,
passing by protected wild flowers and a chapel on the hill. From here we crossed the rhone valley,
avoiding golf courses and gravel works, and continued past vineyards and satellite ground stations
to Leuk, an old town with castle, church and crypt full of skulls.
The Bishop's castle was modernized by adding a glass cupola to one of the medieval towers!
