The next morning we took the train to the Pass taking a coffee and chocolate croissant for the journey. We had an interesting walk which was very ‘up and down’. At one point there was a view point 5 mins off the way so we went to it. There was an amazing view in both directions over the two lakes. We were very high up and Sue took a dried leaf for everyone she knows, said their name as a prayer and let them fly in the wind (Föhn). It was a thrilling experience, although not so thrilling was Sue's hat flying off her head and Angus retrieving it before it flew over the precipice! The path down was littered with fallen stones and dried leaves and was quite steep and slippery. We came to the ‘Pilgerherberge’ (hostel) in Briensveiler and they gave Angus a coffee and we ate our picnic and their home made buns. We wandered down to Brienz to collect the car after a beautiful day out.
