Le Puy to Bains (Fay)

After setting off down the cathedral steps, we climbed out of Le Puy to discover a table laid out at the side of the way with coffee and shell shaped chocolate cakes. From there we criss-crossed the countryside past some interesting old churches to the Gite in Fay that we had booked for the night on a variant by way of Bains, as all the others on the main route were fully booked! It was here that we met several pilgrims who we kept on meeting up with every so often for the next month.
