THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!
We arrived on the bus amidst a torrential downpour, which eased as the bus pulled to a stop, and
the rain ceased as we left the village. We continued from where we had left of the previous time,
walking back along the road and up the hillside. The path was well signposted,
although at one stage we found ourselves walking along stream beds and scrambling up muddy slopes.
The path improved after the chapel at Montpetot, and followed by a herd of cows, we climbed up into the forest.
There was a choice of ways, but all led to the wayside shrine of Buclés.
From there we walked along farm tracks, with a brief shower providing us with a rainbow,
to the extended village of Les Fourgs.
Our hostess, Lucie, met us as we arrived, and showed us around the Maison les Grands Prés where
we had reerved one of the four rooms for the night.
This was a former farmhouse built in 1782, wjth the remains of the stable with its wooden mangers.
in the entrance hall, and a smokehouse and bread oven in the communal area, which also had a fascinating roof structure.
We rounded off the day with a wild garlic and mozzarella pizza, flambéed with absinthe.
