we slept in, and were last for breakfast coffee.
We crossed the bridge into Asturia and went
up a paved road to a sunny village square.
On the way out of the village, we found
a couple of pilgims we knew at a roadside restaurant,
and had coffee and toast.
From there, we found our way to the coastal variant,
which turned out to be spectacular due to the
weather conditions, which huge waves breaking on the cliffs,
and even better. sending plumes of spray out of the blowholes
along the coast. We walked round the edhe of a huge campsite,
and a friendly local drove us up to the clifftop restaurant
where we had salad and chips with local cheese and meat.
Returning to the beach, we found a fascinating cave, although wr
didn't dare go in too deep. then more cross country to see a last
blowhole, now in the rain. This was also the stage where we discovered
that all the villages close for the week, and we were lucky after
finding all the hotels clised, to find an open pension
in the second village we tried, run ba a really friendly
frenchman! Sue was exhausted, and had to
go straight to bed covered in blankets to recover.
