We arrived at Santander bus station on the bus from Irun, and walked from there to the Albergue Piedad
in Boo de Piélagos.
The bus to Santander was early and so we just caught the Easter procession to the cathedral so we followed it around. Into the cathedral and experienced the star of the service with magnificent singing, although we left after the gloria to get a pilgrim stamp and advice from the friendly tourist office back in the bus station. After that, we worked our way uphill to the comino, and after getting lost a few times but finding our way with the help of amused locals and signs every 50m, we got to a park for a snack and to put away our warm clothes- it was already 18 degrees!
The test of the day was a pleasant zig-zag through the countryside, almost entirely on tarmac. The churches on the way were closed. Quite a few other pilgrims overtook us, but when we arrived at the hostel at Boo, we found that we had reserved a private room with en suite bathroom!
