We took the post bus back towards S-Charl, getting off the stop before the one we got on the day before.
Unfortunately the gorge has been closed for some time now due to a landslide so we had to walk down the
road a bit before finding a pleasant path through the woods down to Scuol.
(It’s probably a good idea to wear a visibility vest on this stretch.)
We visited both churches in Scuol, and had a pleasant chat with the Catholic priest whilst getting a pilgrim stamp.
We climbed up behind the station quite steeply and from there, we walked along the side of the valley to Ardez,
taking in the magnificent vistas. We learnt, on the way, that bats are a protected species and even have their own website.
