The only plus was that we shaved a few kilometers off the official route by taking some shortcuts.
It started to get overcast and windy towards the end of the day, and the fields seemed to be largely
mono-culture and weedkiller was extensively used. The hostel in Aire sur l'Adour was basic,
and we met the couple from Lyon there again. We shared a room with a mother and daughter, and
it was rather cold - we were all wearing our jackets at supper time.
