We all had breakfast together which was nice and the owner told us of how he wanted to give up and
retire but could not find anyone to take over the restaurant and accommodation , which is a shame.
There are no shops etc in the village and as in many places we past through, shopping is at least
20mins car drive away. The Way continued to be up and down and we passed some lovely stone hamlets
and walking was mostly on paths. Some were stoney but nicer than before.
We arrived early at Monfaucon-en-Velay and visited the churches there.
In the Chapelle Notre Dame, we were looking at the paintings by Abel Gummen when a M.Saby
came in with a group of friends. He asked if we would like to join in an explanation fo the paintings
- what a gift! It was so interesting. We went to our accommodation which, this time, was an hotel.(Platane).
We had a very nice room and diner was just super - we ate steak, frites.
The owner, Magali, was so nice and there is a special price for pilgrims - we paid 115€ for the night
including the most wonderful breakfast.
