There was a beautiful starry sky and we slept very well. Unfortunately breakfast was a little basic
and later in the day Sue felt rather tired, probably through not eating enough.
We stopped in the town to buy insoles as my feet were a little sore. The town seemed to have a good choice of shops.
We met the two couples from the previous day and walked a little with them. It was a lovely walk up to les Setoux;
it went up and down but through lovely pine woods which felt so familiar and I later learnt that pine forests
are very good for one’s health and well-being. Arriving at the gîte we were given a room to ourselves
(there were several dormitories ). I did some washing and hung it to dry outside.
There was a lovely little chapel which was open allowing a chance for meditation.
The older German couple joined us for supper as did Thomas from Rapperswil and we had a pleasant evening
in the village restaurant. The lady who ran the gîte was so lovely and seemed to be juggling the running
of it with being a farmer’s wife and mother of school children. An interesting memorial was to an American
bomber crew who managed to avoid crashing on the village.
